HISTORY @ JUNE 2011
ISAF 2011 Nations Cup Grand Final
June 2011 - (latest news from the Australian Sailing Team website)
In the Australian Women’s Match Racing Team, Olivia Price, who has developed remarkably quickly as skipper, is now teamed up with Nina Curtis as middle and Lucinda Whitty as bow .
The crew began their campaign at the 2011 Open European Championships in Helsinki, Finland this July 2011 and were selected to represent Australia at the Weymouth and Portland International Regatta 2011, the Olympic venue in August 2011 and then travel to the USA to compete in the ISAF Nations Cup 2011 Grand Final with an in-between stopover at the Buddy Melges Challenge at the USA Sailing Center, another grade 1 regatta where both Olivia and Nina were part of the winning crew as middle and bowman respectively in 2010.
The new team may be youthful in age but certainly not in experience and achievement. Both Nina and Lucinda are previous World Champions of women's match racing, these two talented sailors being members of the Australian winning crew in the 2009 ISAF Match Racing World Championship in Lysekil, SWE. They were also named the Australian Female Sailors of the Year in the season 2010/2011. Nina as middle has been crewing alongside Olivia as a bowman during the past year whilst Lucinda has been predominately competing against both these two as either skipper or bow in other Australian Women's Match Racing Squad and Team crews over the past two years.
"We are still in the development stages of learning, with our preparation for the Pre-Olympics being very detailed in drills and experimental in maneuvers" Olivia said immediately after selection to the test event.

ONLYRacing Team Australia Campaign
Olivia Price, Nina Curtis and Lucinda Whitty, members of the Australian Women's Match Racing Team are holding steadfastly true to their campaign - ONLYRacing Team Australia - to win GOLD for Australia next July/August at the Olympic Games in London 2012.
The Skipper - Olivia is the youngest member of the Australian Women's Match Racing Team at 19yrs of age and has been and remains the youngest competitor on the ISAF World Cup Women's Match Racing Tour for the past three years. Olivia will be 19yrs at the start of the games and potentially the youngest female ever to win a sailing Gold Medal from any country.
Although Olivia is in her final year of school, Olivia's recent outstanding performance in preparation for the Olympic Games has seen her rise dramatically through the world rankings as a crew member and now skipper. It all commenced with her invitation at 16yrs of age in September 2008 to join the Australian Sailing Development Squad. She has already attained the pinnacle of ISAF Women's World Ranking's #1 rank as bowman in 2010 and is currently the dual crowned 2010 Australian Women's Match Racing Champion as skipper and 2010 Australian National Open Match Racing Champion as crew .
In June 2011, Olivia was given the opportunity to skipper her own boat and crew on the World Cup Tour and after her third ISAF World Cup event at the helm succeeded in winning their first team ISAF World Cup Bronze Medal, complimenting her already complete set of World Cup medals as a crew. After such rapid improvement well beyond what would normally be expected in international competition, Olivia and her team of world champions Nina Curtis (23) and Lucinda Whitty (21) succeeded in winning selection to represent Australia in the Olympic Test Event at the Olympic venue in Weymouth, UK and the ISAF Nations Cup Finals at the US Sailing Centre, Sheboygan USA. in 2011. After winning the silver medal at the 2012 ISAF World Cup Miami OCR Regatta in January 2012, they have re-affirmed their goal to win GOLD in London 2012.
